Well, there aren't any Hamachi servers that I know of. But to answer your question, yes we play for fun.

The trick is finding when other people are already playing, then jumping in yourself.
What I did was find a couple of people that played fairly regularly, and befriended them. The core community is linked to lots of other players that play often, and we'll jump in as other people start playing. Here are a couple of people you can send a friend invite to. MOST of them don't bite:

Right now they are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings at 6 PST. It a very widely spoken rule that you should (we'd say need) download teamspeak and at least listen in to the conversations during said pickups. It makes the game SO much better.
