Games on the Server Browser

Postby Choo » Thu Jul 29, 2010 4:13 pm

I was curious, I don't see any games with accurate player counts on the server browser, and have played with friends for many hours and never seen a random person join. Is there a Hamachi network for Metal Drift, or perhaps another Master Server than the one which came installed with Steam? I have to imagine that with all of the people on Steam there would be at least one person other than my friends and I simply playing for the fun of it without it being a serious tourny.

Thanks in advance for any guidance anyone can provide me with. :)

Well, there aren't any Hamachi servers that I know of. But to answer your question, yes we play for fun. :) The trick is finding when other people are already playing, then jumping in yourself.

What I did was find a couple of people that played fairly regularly, and befriended them. The core community is linked to lots of other players that play often, and we'll jump in as other people start playing. Here are a couple of people you can send a friend invite to. MOST of them don't bite:

On top of that, we have several weekly pickups that are designated times when we can jump in and play with other folks. Right now they are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings at 6 PST. It a very widely spoken rule that you should (we'd say need) download teamspeak and at least listen in to the conversations during said pickups. It makes the game SO much better. Couldn't have really explained it better myself. I hope to see you guys around, and maybe at some pickups? ;)

Thanks much for the info all. I don't know how often I'll be able to join a pickup game, but I'd certainly be willing to hop on teamspeak and give it a try sometime. :)

Hopefully I'll see you guys in-game soon. :D
